The Embassy of Pakistan in Tokyo recently hosted a vibrant event to celebrate Pakistan's Independence Day, drawing a large gathering of community members, including women, children, and the elderly. The event was marked by an outpouring of patriotic zeal, as the Pakistani diaspora in Japan came together to commemorate Youm-i-Azaadi.
The festivities began with a flag-hoisting ceremony led by Ambassador Raza Bashir Tarar. As the national flag of Pakistan was raised, the crowd stood in unison, their voices joining in the national anthem, creating a moving atmosphere of unity and pride.
In his address, Ambassador Tarar read out the messages from the President, the Prime Minister, and the Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister of Pakistan. These messages emphasized the importance of unity, peace, and continued efforts towards national development, while also acknowledging the significant contributions of overseas Pakistanis in promoting the country’s image abroad.
The Ambassador highlighted the enduring spirit of independence that binds Pakistanis together, regardless of where they are in the world. The event concluded with a High Tea, where attendees enjoyed traditional Pakistani cuisine.
