The hearing of the 190 million pounds reference has been postponed until August 15. The cross-examination of NAB's investigating officer, Mian Umar Nadeem, was not completed today. The court dismissed the request filed by the PTI founder and Bushra Bibi regarding the NAB board meeting's decision to close the reference, following arguments from both parties.
The hearing of the 190 million pounds reference was conducted by Judge Nasir Javed Rana of the Accountability Court. In their petition, the PTI founder and Bushra Bibi argued that NAB had closed the 190 million pounds case at the complaint verification stage during a board meeting on April 23, 2020. They requested that the record of the NAB board meeting be presented in court. NAB officials informed the court that the reference was filed based on new evidence, and the 2020 executive board meeting had no relevance to the investigating officer's testimony. After hearing arguments from both sides, the court dismissed the petition from the PTI founder and Bushra Bibi. Both were present in the courtroom, along with NAB's Prosecutor General Sardar Muzaffar Abbasi, Amjad Pervaiz, and the PTI founder and Bushra Bibi's lawyers, Barristers Salman Safdar, Usman Gull, and Zaheer Abbas Choudhry. The hearing has been postponed until August 15.
