Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif's 5-Day Visit to the United States

Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has arrived in New York to participate in the United Nations General Assembly session.

Prime Minister will meet with the US-Pakistan Business Council and Pakistani bankers to discuss the government's business-friendly policies.

He is accompanied by Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, and Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi.

During his visit, the Prime Minister will address the UN General Assembly. He will also participate in the SDG Moment 2024 related to Sustainable Development Goals, the Security Council's high-level open debate titled "Leadership for Peace," and a high-level meeting on the potential threats posed by rising sea levels.

The Prime Minister will meet with the US-Pakistan Business Council and Pakistani bankers to discuss the government's business-friendly policies.

He will hold meetings with UN Secretary-General António Guterres, President of the General Assembly Philemon Yang, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, Gates Foundation founder Bill Gates, World Bank President Ajay Banga, and Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund Kristalina Georgieva.

Additionally, the Prime Minister will have a special meeting with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to consult on stopping ongoing Israeli oppression in Palestine and to urge the international community to take swift action in this regard.

The Prime Minister will also engage in bilateral meetings with leaders from friendly countries, including a luncheon hosted by Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei to mark 40 years of Brunei’s membership in the UN, and a dinner hosted by Bangladesh Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus to celebrate 50 years of Bangladesh's UN membership.

During his visit, the Prime Minister will raise issues concerning the challenges faced by climate-vulnerable countries, Pakistan's sacrifices in combating terrorism in the region, problems in the global economic system affecting indebted nations, the ongoing illegal occupation and oppression in Kashmir by India, and the ongoing genocide of unarmed Palestinians by Israel.

Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif Congratulates Saudi Arabia on Its 94th National Day

On the occasion of Saudi Arabia's 94th National Day, Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif extended his heartfelt congratulations to His Majesty King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

The Prime Minister thanked the Saudi government for its cooperation in stabilizing Pakistan’s economy, stating that the entire nation is appreciative of this assistance. 

He affirmed that the fraternal relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia will, God willing, continue to flourish.

Chinese President Xi Jinping has sent a congratulatory letter to Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif on the occasion of his birthday.
