On September 17, 2024, Lahore hosted a grand Mehfil-e-Milaad to celebrate Eid Milad-un-Nabiﷺ (PBUH), with Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif delivering an inspiring address. The event, attended by a diverse gathering of religious leaders, dignitaries, and citizens, emphasized the significance of the Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) teachings in today’s world.

In his remarks, the Prime Minister highlighted the timeless values of love, compassion, and forgiveness that the Prophet (PBUH) embodied. “As we celebrate the birth of the Holy Prophet,” he stated, “we must reflect on his teachings and strive to implement them in our daily lives. His message of peace and unity is more crucial now than ever, as we face challenges that require us to come together as a nation.”

The Mehfil featured heartfelt recitations of naats and qasidas, which filled the air with devotion and reverence. Attendees were encouraged to engage in acts of kindness and charity, embodying the spirit of the Prophet’s teachings. Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that true celebration of this occasion lies in following the Prophet’s example of selflessness and service to humanity.


In addition to his reflections on the Prophet's life, the Prime Minister addressed contemporary issues facing the nation, urging the youth to take inspiration from the Prophet’s character in their personal and professional lives. “Let us work together to build a society that reflects the values of justice, tolerance, and respect for all,” he said.

The event also served as a platform for fostering interfaith dialogue, with leaders from various religious backgrounds joining in the celebrations, underscoring the importance of unity in diversity. Shehbaz Sharif praised these efforts, stating, “Our strength lies in our ability to come together, regardless of our differences. The message of the Prophet (PBUH) transcends boundaries and calls us to embrace one another.”

As the Mehfil concluded, participants were left with a renewed sense of purpose, inspired to spread the message of love and peace in their communities.
