Federal Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar's remarks:
ISLAMABAD.by imtiaz Ali Abbasi
PTI has always targeted journalists, attacked them, and launched social media campaigns against them, said the Information Minister.
During PTI's tenure, it became a crime to express dissent, hold different views, or disagree with any party's ideology, added the minister.
The Information Minister accused the PTI of using inappropriate language against journalists and being the first to target them on social media.
PTI encouraged its followers to level accusations against anyone who did not support their views, and this trend continues to this day, said Tarar.
He recalled how PTI supporters harassed Sana Mirza in Lahore when she was in a DSNG van and also mentioned the death of journalist Sadaf, who was killed after being struck by their container.
The Information Minister criticized PTI's treatment of female journalists, stating that they were assaulted and subjected to abusive language.
He condemned the remarks made by Ali Amin Gandapur against journalists, calling them highly inappropriate, and demanded that the entire PTI should issue an unconditional apology for his statements.
Gandapur, being a provincial minister, should not be using such foul language about women and the Pakistan Army, Tarar said.
He also expressed disapproval of PTI leaders using inappropriate language against the institution that has made sacrifices in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, saying it is shameful to speak against those who ensure their safety.
Tarar highlighted that PTI leaders were arrested outside Parliament, with video evidence available, showing the clear nature of the events.
Despite their use of abusive language against female journalists and a provincial chief minister, they felt no remorse and instead started complaining about their arrests, said the minister.
The PTI chairman’s ideology is rooted in fascism, Tarar added.
He also accused PTI, in collaboration with Lieutenant General (retd) Faiz Hameed, of filing cases against every opposition leader.
The minister criticized PTI’s policies, remarking that they imprisoned opposition leaders on false charges and celebrated their suffering.
He mentioned that the PTI chairman issued a message on social media targeting the military, furthering his intent to spread chaos in the country.
Tarar said the PTI leader was once again comparing himself to Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The FIA will investigate the message issued by the PTI chairman and inquire about who is running his social media account, he added.
The PTI chairman’s repeated attempts to conspire against national security are highly condemnable, according to the minister.
He stated that PTI's leader incited the public to launch a campaign, but assured that such a conspiracy will not succeed.
Tarar also noted that the PTI chairman had made allegations against the Interior Minister, despite receiving all necessary facilities in jail.
The state will not allow any attack on itself, he asserted.
Tarar further noted that the IMF agreement has entered its final stages, inflation is down to single digits, exports are rising, and the current account deficit is shrinking, showing positive economic indicators.
The PTI is upset by the improvement in the economy, and as a result, has begun attacking national institutions, Tarar concluded.
They will never succeed in their ambitions, said the Information Minister.
