Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif stated that during his address at the United Nations General Assembly, he presented Pakistan's stance on crucial issues such as an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and the resolution of the Kashmir conflict. He reported having productive meetings with various heads of state during the session, as well as fruitful discussions with leaders of international financial institutions.

Sharif mentioned that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) approved a $7 billion program during the conference, recognizing Pakistan’s economic development and stability. He emphasized that the impoverished citizens of Pakistan have always made sacrifices, and now it is time for the elite to contribute as well. Expanding the tax net is essential to ensure that the burden does not fall further on those already paying taxes. He promised relief to the inflation-stricken populace directly at their doorstep.

While addressing media representatives in London, the Prime Minister shared that he had meaningful dialogues with heads of state from Turkey, Iran, Kuwait, and the UK to strengthen relations with brotherly countries. He condemned the violence and brutality in Palestine, particularly in Gaza, where over 40,000 Palestinians have been killed, and called for an immediate ceasefire and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state. Additionally, he demanded UN representation for the Palestinians and brought global attention to the atrocities faced by Kashmiris.

Sharif pointed out that the bloodshed in the Kashmir Valley has reached alarming levels, yet the Kashmiris have bravely resisted Indian oppression. He highlighted that the Indian government revoked the limited rights granted under Article 370 on August 5, 2019, and called for the cessation of oppression in accordance with UN Security Council resolutions, the Hague’s International Court of Justice rulings, and the international community's support. He reiterated the need for the Kashmiris to be granted their fundamental right to self-determination.

Discussing Pakistan’s challenges, the Prime Minister noted that the current government has rescued the country from default, which was imminent due to the previous administration's policies. Thanks to collective efforts and divine grace, not only was the threat of default averted, but an agreement with the IMF was also reached, yielding positive outcomes for the economy. He reported a significant reduction in inflation from 32% to 9.6% and stated that the State Bank had cut the policy rate by 2%.

Sharif urged that further sacrifices and hard work are required to expand the tax net and protect current taxpayers from additional burdens. He emphasized that ordinary citizens have consistently sacrificed, and it is now the elite's turn to contribute to alleviating the burden of inflation on the common man. He expressed gratitude to friendly nations such as Saudi Arabia, China, and the UAE for their vital roles in supporting Pakistan during this period.

The Prime Minister acknowledged the contributions of various officials, including the Foreign Minister and the Finance Minister, in securing the IMF program and highlighted the need for fiscal discipline to achieve the nation's long-awaited aspirations.

Furthermore, Sharif reiterated his call for a "Charter of Economy," which was previously dismissed, emphasizing the need for unity in tackling economic challenges. He condemned the attacks on Jinnah House and memorials for martyrs, labeling them as unforgivable acts.

He vowed to fulfill the dream of making Pakistan an Asian tiger, a vision previously championed by his leader Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, who had successfully increased the growth rate to over 6% and reduced inflation to 3.5%. He stated that they are committed to rebuilding Pakistan, fostering positive relations with the UK, which has consistently supported Pakistan's development.
