Islamabad, September 20, 2024: Speaker of the National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, emphasized the necessity of global alliances, tolerance, and dialogue for the establishment of lasting peace. On the occasion of the International Day of Peace, observed annually on September 21 under the auspices of the United Nations, he highlighted the need for peaceful resolutions to conflicts, stating that promoting peace is essential for the development and welfare of humanity.
The Speaker underscored the importance of diplomacy in fostering peace, suggesting that sustainable peace can be achieved through communication and understanding among nations. He remarked that the use of violence and force cannot lead to enduring peace. He further stated that mutual respect, cooperation, and a commitment to justice are crucial for maintaining peace.
He called upon the global community to uphold human rights and promote equality, asserting that peace is not merely the absence of war but the presence of harmony, justice, and respect for diversity.
