Islamabad: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif announced on Monday his intention to meet Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi soon.

In an interview with Indian journalist Barkha Dutt, Nawaz highlighted the significance of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit taking place in Pakistan, stating, “It would have been better if Narendra Modi had himself visited Pakistan.” He emphasized that the SCO presents a valuable opportunity to improve relations between Pakistan and India.

Meanwhile, Nawaz Sharif commended Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's recent speech at the United Nations (UN), noting, “What to do with such a United Nations, which could not implement its resolutions.”

He expressed concern over the international community's silence regarding the atrocities against innocent Palestinians, saying, “It is quite heartbreaking to see the pictures of the innocent children, who are subjected to atrocities in Palestine.”

Nawaz lamented, “Palestine has been subjected to the worst violence in the history of the world. Palestine has no military power and weapons.”
