Islamabad: Pakistan and China have agreed to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in multiple sectors, including security, education, agriculture, human resource development, and science & technology. The two countries exchanged 13 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and various other documents during a formal ceremony held at the Prime Minister's House in Islamabad on Monday, following high-level delegation talks between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chinese Premier Li Qiang.
The event, which was attended by both leaders and their respective delegations, witnessed the exchange of key agreements aimed at deepening cooperation between the two nations. Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Ahsan Iqbal and China’s National Development and Reform Commission Vice Chairman Liu Shuxu led the exchange of documents on the Pakistan-China Economic Corridor (CPEC) Joint Coordination Committee's 13th session and Gwadar Joint Working Group's 7th session minutes.
Additionally, various agreements were signed in the fields of employment promotion, education, smart classrooms, flood control, and science and technology. A major development was the agreement on the exchange of currency between the State Bank of Pakistan and the People’s Bank of China, which will significantly enhance trade and economic ties between the two countries.
