Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari Pledges Judicial Reforms Through Constitutional Amendment |
Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari vowed on Monday to uplift the justice system through a constitutional amendment.
Expressing his thoughts in Karachi, the former foreign minister said: “I would like to put forward the demand of bringing the constitutional amendment by joining hands with the masses. I would also like to ask the question from the masses: Are they satisfied with the contemporary justice system?”
He recalled the tenure of former chief justice of Pakistan, Iftikhar Chaudhry. “The masses had given justice through the system introduced by Iftikhar Chaudhry.”
“I will demand judicial reforms along with the masses,” Bilawal added.
Speaking about former prime minister Benazir Bhutto, Bhutto-Zardari stated: “We will save the country by implementing the promises made by Benazir Bhutto. We will spread the agricultural revolution across the country.”
He emphasized that “the agricultural revolution will be started by the Sindh farmers.”
Bilawal also criticized the idea of deregulating the agricultural sector, calling it “not logical thinking.” He added that “the agricultural sector, which can play a substantial role in strengthening the country’s economy, is being affected by environmental challenges.”
Recalling the previous PPP tenure, Bhutto-Zardari noted: “The country had witnessed an agricultural revolution during the tenure of Asif Ali Zardari.”
