The Federal Minister of Information, Attaullah Tarar, expressed a solemn message on the occasion of Black Day, emphasizing October 27, 1947, as a day marked by India's unlawful military occupation of Jammu and Kashmir. He stated that India deployed its forces in Kashmir against the will of the Kashmiri people, leading to an unjust occupation that has persisted ever since.

The Federal Minister condemned the relentless oppression and repressive policies of the Indian government, emphasizing that, despite these, the people of Kashmir continue their courageous and dignified struggle for freedom. "The people of Kashmir will never accept India's forcible occupation of Jammu and Kashmir," the Minister asserted, stressing Pakistan's steadfast support for the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination.

Minister Tarar further lauded Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's unwavering stance on the Kashmir issue, which underscores Pakistan’s enduring commitment to a fair and peaceful resolution of this longstanding dispute. "Pakistan has always advocated for the Kashmiri cause on the global stage and will continue to stand by the people of Kashmir in their rightful struggle," he added.

Highlighting that the only acceptable resolution lies in a plebiscite under the United Nations’ auspices, he reiterated that Pakistan will continue to support Kashmir's freedom struggle. He also warned of India’s ongoing attempts to alter Kashmir’s legal status and called on the international community to play an active role in ensuring a peaceful resolution, while preventing India from perpetuating human rights abuses in the region.

"With firm belief in the Kashmiri people's resilience, we are confident they will one day achieve their rightful freedom," concluded the Minister.
