Peshawar – A clash erupted between the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government and the opposition after Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur delivered a controversial speech in the provincial assembly on Tuesday. Tensions escalated when the opposition lawmakers protested the decision to give the microphone to Gandapur, accusing the assembly of denying them the opportunity to express their views.
The opposition expressed frustration, claiming that they were "not given time to express their thoughts" during the assembly session. This led to a verbal clash between Iqbal Wazir of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-Parliamentarians (PTI-P) and Naik Muhammad of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), adding to the heated atmosphere.
Security personnel were forced to intervene and removed outsiders from the assembly premises to prevent further escalation of the situation.
The incident highlights the growing rift between the KP government and the opposition, raising concerns over the state of parliamentary proceedings in the province.
