The attack was an unsuccessful attempt to facilitate the escape of the arrested suspects. The Federal Minister emphasized that the assault was premeditated. Arrests have already been made of individuals involved in the attack, including the son of a PTI Member of the Provincial Assembly (MPA) from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Two vehicles, four individuals, and weapons were seized during the incident. The Minister reiterated that the suspects attempted to facilitate the escape of the detainees through a well-planned operation.

He further noted that violence and unrest are part of the PTI's history, citing previous incidents including the attacks on May 9, the assault on Pakistan Television (PTV), and the breaching of parliament’s gates.

PTI activists attacked the prison van transporting 82 detainees, attempting to facilitate the escape of 19 individuals, who were subsequently re-arrested. All detainees are now under police custody, with two police personnel reported injured during the attack. The police bravely thwarted the assault.

The Minister assured that strict action would be taken against the perpetrators, establishing a precedent for future incidents. Legal proceedings will be initiated against the attack, with cases filed and arrests made.

He criticized the PTI's response as laughable, likening it to a movie script. CCTV footage from the toll plaza is available, which will aid in identifying the assailants and tracking the vehicles involved in the attack.

The state’s authority will be upheld at all costs, and no leniency will be shown. The Minister referenced punishments given to individuals involved in the Capitol Hill and London Royals incidents, stating that had the May 9 attackers been punished, such audacity for future attacks would not have existed.

Four suspects have been detained, and interrogations are underway. The attack involved 25 to 30 individuals, all of whom will be apprehended. The Minister assured that those responsible would face substantial consequences, establishing an example to prevent any future attempts to obstruct prison vehicles or facilitate detainee escapes.
