Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif expressed Pakistan's commitment to providing every possible facility for Palestinian students, announcing that more Palestinian students would receive free education at government expense. He stated that the international community has completely failed to stop the genocide of Palestinians and to bring about a ceasefire in Gaza. During his address to Palestinian students studying at Pakistani medical universities and colleges, he emphasized that the people of Pakistan stand with their Palestinian brothers and sisters during this difficult time.

Speaking on Wednesday, Prime Minister Sharif remarked that it is an honor to address the brilliant students from Gaza. He welcomed them to Pakistan, calling it their second home, and acknowledged that the world is becoming increasingly aware of their suffering, which is intensifying daily. He condemned the brutal atrocities committed by the Israeli military, stating that over 43,000 Palestinians have been martyred, and thousands of children have been killed in their mothers' arms, with many cities destroyed.

He criticized the international community for only issuing resolutions, speeches, and promises without taking action. He pointed out that neither the United Nations Security Council nor any international forum has done anything to enforce a ceasefire, asserting that such devastation has never been witnessed in history.

The Prime Minister assured the students, “You are our brothers and sisters; everything from our homes to our teachers is for you. We will do everything necessary for you in Pakistan.” He noted that during a United Nations General Assembly meeting, various world leaders spoke about the genocide of Palestinians by the Israeli military, yet bloodshed continues in Gaza, with schools and hospitals being bombed.

He emphasized that the hopes of Palestinians are inspiring for the whole world, and every family has lost loved ones. He called for actions to save the lives of people in Gaza and announced that philanthropists have supported the Gaza Outreach Program for Education.

Prime Minister Sharif revealed that 145 Palestinian students have already arrived in Pakistan, and the country will host more students for their education in various cities. He reiterated that Pakistan will provide free medical education to more Palestinian students at government expense and urged the Foreign Ministry and Health Ministry to coordinate their efforts without delay.

Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad Bhurt, the Prime Minister's Coordinator for National Health, stated that under the Prime Minister’s direction, Palestinian students are receiving medical education in private and public colleges and universities across the country. He expressed gratitude to the Al-Khidmat Foundation and medical colleges for their support in this noble endeavor.

Chairman of the Higher Education Commission, Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad, mentioned that he had written to both public and private colleges to facilitate medical education for Palestinian students. He reported that 60 medical colleges have offered to provide free education to Palestinian students, with 24 students studying in Lahore and 121 in Rawalpindi and Islamabad.

Palestinian students Dr. Lama and Dr. Masrat represented their peers and expressed their gratitude during the ceremony, saying, "We hail from Gaza, and witnessing our loved ones being martyred at the hands of the Israeli military is not easy. We are thankful for the support of Al-Khidmat Foundation and other organizations in furthering our education in Pakistan. We hope that more Palestinian students seeking medical education will also have the opportunity to study here, and we are grateful to Pakistan for its support and assistance."
