Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reiterated his government’s firm commitment to ensuring the success of the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit. The prime minister chaired a high-level security meeting on Sunday, which focused on reviewing the security arrangements and overall situation in Islamabad ahead of the international event.
Attended by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Islamabad Inspector General of Police (IGP), and the Chief Commissioner, the meeting involved discussions about the current security status in the federal capital. Prime Minister Shehbaz directed the authorities to implement foolproof security measures, ensuring the safety of all participants and the smooth progression of the summit.
The prime minister also stressed the importance of beautifying Islamabad, instructing the Chief Commissioner to expedite ongoing city projects as part of the preparations for the summit. The SCO summit is not only a key diplomatic event but also an opportunity for Pakistan to showcase its readiness and organizational capabilities on the international stage.
Combating Anti-National Elements:
During the meeting, Shehbaz Sharif also addressed the recent terrorist incident in Karachi and expressed his determination to thwart the efforts of anti-national elements. He reassured that the security forces are fully prepared to counter any threats, vowing to crush the ambitions of groups attempting to destabilize the country.
With the SCO summit scheduled to take place in Islamabad, the government is keen to ensure that all preparations are up to standard and that the event proceeds without any disruption.
