*The 45th Annual Forum of Parliamentarians for Global Action (PGA) and the 13th Session of the Consultative Assembly of Parliamentarians (CAP-ICC) will be held on 28th and 29th October 2024 in Islamabad*
Islamabad; 27th October 2024; 45th Annual Forum of Parliamentarians for Global Action (PGA) and the 13th Session of the Consultative Assembly of Parliamentarians (CAP-ICC) will be hosted by National Assembly on 28th and 29th October, 2024 at Pakistan Institute for Parliamentary Services (PIPS), Islamabad. In this two-day meeting, global peace, justice, climate change, and other important global issues will be deliberated upon.
It is pertinent to mention that Parliamentarians from 39 countries, international jurists, intellectuals, media personnel and civil society representatives will participate in this meeting. This international conference is a manifestation of successful parliamentary diplomacy as well as it's a reflection of the peaceful and democratic identity of Pakistan. The opening ceremony of the meeting will be held on Monday, October 28 2024, which will be broadcasted live. Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq will be the Chief Guest of the inaugural ceremony. Apart from Speaker NA, President PGA Syed Naveed Qamar and President PGA Pakistan Senator Sherry Rehman will also address the opening ceremony.
During the meeting, seven side sessions would also be held, in which topics like global peace, climate change, promotion of democratic values, global justice and the role of parliaments in establishing peace will be discussed. On the directions of Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, the National Assembly Secretariat has made extensive preparations for this session, and invitations have been issued to guests and media representatives. This event in Islamabad indicates Pakistan's role in promoting global justice, human rights, and democratic values.
The participation of a large number of foreign parliamentarians and other distinguished guests is a clear proof of Pakistan being a safe & progressive country, which holds democratic values in high regards. The two-day annual forum of PGA will also highlight the peaceful image of Pakistan along with the sacrifices it has rendered for establishment of world peace.
