Federal Minister of Information, Attaullah Tarar, in an exclusive interview with PTV, addressed the internal challenges faced by the national broadcaster. He stated that a "mafia" has embedded itself within PTV, with individuals receiving salaries without actively contributing to the organization. "No corrupt elements will be tolerated in PTV," he affirmed.

Minister Tarar expressed a vision for attracting high-quality human resources to PTV, recalling a time when the network held a prominent place in media. "If I cannot reform PTV, I will consider myself a failure," he remarked, acknowledging that there are competent individuals within the organization. However, he noted, "Hard-working people are often sidelined."

The Minister detailed his ongoing mission to bring reforms to PTV, a process that has led to backlash against him in the media. He denied ever succumbing to political pressure, stating, "Reforming PTV is my mission." His goal is to restore PTV to its former status, where public funds are respected and efficiently utilized.

Minister Tarar highlighted that 14 individuals were receiving salaries without fulfilling any role in PTV and stressed the importance of giving opposition parties fair coverage. Addressing challenges in the finance, sales, and marketing departments, he emphasized the need to improve these areas. "We will not allow looting and robbery in the institution," he declared.

Finally, he introduced a new screen for a fresh look at PTV and promised a resolution for the pensioners' issue. He aims to eliminate the culture of stubbornness and ensure better functioning across all departments. "With the grace of Allah, I will fix PTV. This is my mission," the Minister concluded.
