Islamabad, November 18, 2024 – Speaker National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, commended the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP) for its unwavering commitment to advancing Pakistan’s healthcare sector. Addressing the 57th Convocation of CPSP in Islamabad, he highlighted the critical role of young doctors in transforming the nation's healthcare landscape.

“Patients often sacrifice everything for treatment in hospitals. In such moments, kind words and a smile from senior doctors can provide them with a renewed sense of life,” the Speaker remarked during his keynote speech.

The event was graced by notable attendees, including Punjab Health Advisor Major General (Retd) Azhar Kiani, former caretaker Health Minister Punjab Dr. Jamal Nasir, CPSP President Dr. Mohammad Shoaib Shafi, distinguished doctors, graduating students, and their families.

Sardar Ayaz Sadiq emphasized the dedication, compassion, and expertise of the graduating doctors, calling them the backbone of the nation’s healthcare system. He lauded CPSP for its exceptional contributions to medical education and training, both nationally and internationally.

The Speaker urged young doctors to go beyond providing medical treatment by fostering ethical and honest relationships with patients. He identified maternal and child healthcare and rural medical services as key challenges that require the commitment and expertise of young professionals to overcome.

Reflecting on CPSP’s six decades of excellence, he praised the institution’s leadership for maintaining high standards in postgraduate medical education and instilling values of humanity and compassion in its graduates.

The Speaker assured the parliament's continued support for CPSP’s initiatives aimed at advancing healthcare and encouraged its leadership to focus on developing both technical and ethical leadership among medical professionals.

Sardar Ayaz Sadiq extended heartfelt congratulations to the graduates and their families, acknowledging their sacrifices and hard work. He called upon the young doctors to bring innovation and dedication to Pakistan’s healthcare system, stating, “Building a healthy society requires a robust healthcare system. Serving humanity through the medical profession is sacred and offers unparalleled satisfaction.”
