Police launch massive crackdown against 1,900 PTI-linked wanted suspects

Authorities have launched a major crackdown to apprehend over 1,900 wanted suspects allegedly involved in violent protests, including the May 9 tragedy, the September 21 meeting, and the October 5 demonstrations.
Police have already arrested 92 individuals from various locations, claiming they are linked to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
The operation targets suspects involved in 65 cases of vandalism, rioting, and attacks on law enforcement. According to police officials, the crackdown is part of efforts to bring the accused to justice. “Those responsible for vandalism and pelting stones at police officers during incidents such as the May 9 tragedy have been identified through closed-circuit footage,” officials stated.
Police records include 1,909 wanted suspects, and the operation will continue until all are brought to justice. The arrested individuals will be formally named in the respective cases. Police emphasized their commitment to ensuring accountability and maintaining law and order in the city.
