Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf PTI workers Faisalabad chapter called off the protest march towards Islamabad at the Sargodha Road Interchange.
The PTI local leadership withdrew the protest call after admitting decrease in number of workers. After failing to depart for Islamabad, the workers dispersed after clashing with police on Sargodha Road.
PTI Faisalabad city president Latif Nazar Gujjar said a large number of workers have been arrested and argued now they could not go to Islamabad on Sunday. Reportedly, police have arrested more than 500 workers in Faisalabad.
However, the workers blamed the PTI Faisalabad leadership that despite the central leadership’s call to reach Islamabad, the local chapter was not supporting them.
“Peshawar convoy will reach by tomorrow, after which we will also make a plan to go,” the city president of PTI said.
The city’s local leadership left with its workers via motorway.
