Light snowfall began in Rawalakot and surrounding areas, with heavier snowfall reported in the upper regions of District Poonch.
According to details, Galiyat witnessed its first snowfall of the season, with light snow falling in areas such as Changla Gali, Khaira Gali, Miranjani, and Khanaspur. The cold weather brought chilly winds to the city, intensifying the winter chill.
The rain and snowfall continued in Murree, with the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) issuing alerts. Spokespersons indicated the possibility of more rain and snowfall over the next 24 hours.
Traffic disruptions were expected, but salt was being spread on roads to prevent accidents.
PDMA Director General Irfan Ali Kathia had instructed the Murree administration to remain vigilant, clear snow using heavy machinery, and ensure smooth traffic flow.
He emphasised the importance of providing facilities for tourists and preventing any untoward incidents.
Thirteen facilitation centres were established to guide visitors, and the public was advised to check weather updates before travelling.
Snowfall began in Shogran, a popular tourist destination. Two vehicles were stuck on the snowy Shogran Road but were rescued by teams from the Kaghan Development Authority (KDA).
Snow removal operations continued to facilitate tourists and locals.
