Federal Minister for Housing and Works, Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada, emphasized the importance of Sufi teachings in fostering peace, harmony, and brotherhood while attending the book-launch ceremony of Kalyam Kooch-i-Ishq as the Chief Guest. The event, held at the Pakistan Academy of Letters in Islamabad, marked the 133rd death anniversary of Hazrat Mian Fazul ud Din Kalyami (R.A.), a revered Sufi saint.

The book, co-authored by Syed Ahmad Iqbal Tirmazi and Iftikhar Ahmad Hafiz Qadri, explores the biography, teachings, and discourses of Hazrat Mian Fazul ud Din Kalyami. The ceremony was presided over by the former President of the Islamic International University, Sahibzada Dr. Sajid ur Rehman, with Professor Dr. Abdul Aziz Sahir from Allama Iqbal Open University serving as the guest of honor.

Other distinguished attendees included Professor Dr. Najeeba Arif, President of the Pakistan Academy of Letters; Director General of the Pakistan Academy of Letters, Sultan M. Nawaz Nasir; and Sahibzada Professor Rashad Masood Kalyami.

Addressing the audience, Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada highlighted the pivotal role played by Sufi mystics in spreading Islam in the subcontinent through teachings centered on humility, tolerance, and peace. "The Sufis have significantly shaped our understanding of the faith and continue to inspire us today. Hazrat Mian Fazul ud Din Kalyami (R.A.), a disciple of Hazrat Baba Fariduddin Ganjshakar (R.A.), was renowned for his wisdom, piety, and spiritual prowess," the minister noted.

He further underscored the relevance of Sufi teachings in today’s challenging times and called for increased efforts to introduce such luminaries to the younger generations. “The preservation and promotion of Sufi literature are key to fostering understanding among diverse communities,” he added, congratulating the authors for their valuable contribution to Sufi literature.

Dr. Sajid ur Rehman elaborated on the timeless wisdom of Hazrat Mian Fazul ud Din Kalyami, describing him as a beacon of spirituality and a guide for truth-seekers. “His teachings continue to inspire generations even a century later,” Dr. Sajid remarked.

Professor Dr. Abdul Aziz Sahir praised the authors for their diligent efforts in documenting the spiritual legacy of the great mystic, while Professor Dr. Najeeba Arif highlighted Hazrat Mian Fazul ud Din Kalyami’s miracles and profound understanding of Islam’s mystical dimensions.

Sahibzada Professor Rashad Masood Kalyami shed light on Hazrat Mian Fazul ud Din Kalyami’s association with the Sabriya branch of the Chishti Order, commending the authors for presenting the saint's teachings of introspection, self-purification, and inner reflection.

The event concluded with a collective acknowledgment of the enduring impact of Hazrat Mian Fazul ud Din Kalyami’s spiritual guidance and a call for further initiatives to preserve the teachings of Sufi saints for future generations.
