Islamabad: Federal Minister for Information, Attaullah Tarar, addressed the tragic Jaafar Express incident, stating that the military operation in Balochistan has successfully concluded. He expressed gratitude that Pakistani security forces efficiently handled the situation.
Terrorists Eliminated in Military Operation
Attaullah Tarar revealed that 33 terrorists responsible for taking Pakistani citizens hostage have been eliminated. However, he regretted that 21 people lost their lives before the operation began, including four brave soldiers of the Pakistan Army. He praised the army’s courage and professionalism in confronting the terrorists.
Military's Tactical Execution
Providing details, the minister mentioned that 440 passengers were on board the train, and the operation was carried out with expertise by Pakistan Army, FC, SSG, and Air Force. The joint forces demonstrated extraordinary skill and coordination in neutralizing the attackers.
Indian Media's False Propaganda
Tarar strongly condemned Indian media’s misleading propaganda regarding the incident. He criticized certain political elements for exploiting the tragedy for personal gain. He also pointed out that Indian media, BLA, and PTI were echoing the same narrative, instead of relying on verified facts.
Prime Minister Appreciates Security Forces
The minister stated that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has praised the security forces for their successful operation. He emphasized that such incidents should never be used for political gains, condemning those who attempted to do so.
Pakistan Will Not Tolerate Terrorism
He assured the nation that Pakistan will not allow such terrorist activities to take place. The hostages were rescued and safely evacuated. He further stated that PTI should be ashamed for promoting false narratives.
Unwavering Commitment Against Terrorism
Tarar reaffirmed that Pakistan will not rest until terrorism is completely eradicated. He vowed to pursue terrorists and dismantle their networks. The recent Balochistan operation demonstrated the highest level of professionalism, he added.
Shehbaz Sharif to Visit Balochistan
The minister confirmed that PM Shehbaz Sharif has spoken to the Balochistan Chief Minister and will visit the province tomorrow to discuss future counterterrorism strategies.
