Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday reaffirmed his government's commitment to economic stability, national security, and development while addressing a federal cabinet meeting.
He welcomed the newly appointed ministers, ministers of state, and advisers, expressing confidence in their dedication to Pakistan’s progress.

Highlighting the resurgence of terrorism, the prime minister stressed that Pakistan’s dream
of development could not be fulfilled without complete peace. He acknowledged the sacrifices made by security forces, police, and Frontier Corps (FC) personnel in the ongoing fight against terrorism in Khyber
Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
“Terrorism has raised its head again, and our brave forces are giving their lives every day to
protect the nation,” he said, vowing to continue the battle until the menace is eradicated.
Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that macroeconomic stability had been achieved with the
support of the International Monetary Fund (IMF). He noted that an IMF delegation
was currently in Pakistan for discussions with the finance minister and his team.
“The macroeconomic program is stable with the IMF’s support, but now we must accelerate
our race for development,” he stated.
The PM also noted a record increase in remittances, which reached $3.1 billion this month,
and called for further growth in foreign inflows to strengthen the economy.
Reiterating the importance of various sectors in Pakistan’s economic revival, he highlighted
agriculture, IT, minerals, and maritime affairs as crucial for sustainable growth. He also
stressed the need for a complete transformation in Pakistan Railways to enhance efficiency
and connectivity.
“We will conduct performance reviews every three months to ensure accountability and
progress,” he added.
In a major educational initiative, PM Sharif announced the establishment of Danish University,
a state-of-the-art institution specializing in artificial intelligence and modern sciences.
The project, funded by the UK’s £190 million settlement, is set to launch its first section
by August 14, 2026.
“This university will play a crucial role in preparing our youth for the future, equipping
them with cutting-edge knowledge,” he said.
PM Shehbaz concluded by reaffirming his confidence in the newly inducted cabinet
members, urging them to work tirelessly for the country’s growth. “The people of all four
provinces will closely monitor our performance, and we must ensure that our work speaks
for itself,” he remarked.
