Islamabad – Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has strongly asserted that the Indus Waters Treaty cannot be unilaterally terminated under any circumstances, reinforcing Pakistan’s firm stance on water rights and regional security. Speaking to the media on Thursday, he emphasized, “The World Bank stands as a guarantor of the Indus Waters Treaty,” underlining that Pakistan will never accept any unilateral changes to the historic agreement.

Sardar Ayaz Sadiq issued a stark warning to India, making it clear that any water-related aggression will have serious consequences. “Pakistan will never allow Prime Minister Modi’s hegemonic policies to divert or obstruct its rightful share of water under the treaty,” he added, reiterating the country’s resolve.

The Speaker welcomed the recent decisions of the National Security Committee (NSC), praising them as vital to protecting Pakistan’s core interests. “These decisions will play a pivotal role in safeguarding Pakistan’s national interests,” he said. He also reaffirmed Pakistan’s confidence in its Armed Forces, stating, “The people of Pakistan stand shoulder to shoulder with their armed forces,” and emphasized their complete capability to deal with any misadventure.

Regarding the Pahalgam incident, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq strongly condemned India’s unilateral actions and baseless accusations against Pakistan. “Such claims, made without investigation, are deeply regrettable and highlight a concerning bias,” he said. He made it unequivocally clear that Pakistan will not compromise on its sovereignty or territorial integrity, stating, “Our nation is always prepared to defend its borders.”
