Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari visited the villages of Nachan Pur and Tamachani in Sukkur today to inspect the progress of the world's largest free housing project for flood-affected families.
The project, launched under the Sindh People's Housing for Flood Affectees (SPHF) initiative, aims to provide secure and sustainable homes to millions of displaced citizens. During his visit, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari emphasized that the initiative is not merely about constructing homes but about empowering flood victims with ownership and dignity.
The housing units are specially designed to withstand future natural disasters and are being allotted in the name of women to promote social empowerment. "This is a revolutionary step towards building a stronger, more resilient Pakistan," Bilawal said.
He added that while the project is currently focused on Sindh, similar initiatives will be expanded to Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan after the upcoming elections. The vision is to uplift underprivileged communities and strengthen Pakistan’s economy by empowering its people.
During the visit, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari interacted with affected families, listened to their concerns, and assured them that PPP stands with them in their journey toward rebuilding their lives. He remarked that this housing initiative is laying the foundation for a new Pakistan where every citizen has access to basic necessities and a sense of security.
