NA Speaker termed suspension of Indus Water Treaty by Modi Government as highly irresponsible & provocative

Islamabad; 23rd April 2025; Speaker National Assembly of Pakistan, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, has strongly condemned the tragic incident that took place in Pahalgam, Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK). He expressed profound sorrow and grief over the loss of innocent lives and extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. Terming the event deeply unfortunate, he emphasized the need for accountability and justice for the victims.

Rejecting the immediate accusations leveled by India against Pakistan, Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq described them as baseless, fabricated, and driven by malice. He stated that India’s knee-jerk response to blame Pakistan without evidence is indicative of a pre-planned narrative aimed at maligning Pakistan’s image on the international stage. He further stated that this incident appears to be part of a broader conspiracy by the Indian government to divert attention from the gross human rights violations and systemic oppression in IIOJK.

Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq pointed out that the presence of over 800,000 Indian troops in the region raises serious questions about India’s internal security management. He highlighted that the occurrence of such an attack under heavy military surveillance is, in fact, a reflection of India’s own failure. Moreover, he condemned the Indian government’s decision to suspend the Indus Waters Treaty in the aftermath of the incident, calling it a highly irresponsible and provocative move.

NA Speaker urged the international community to take notice of India's theatrical tactics and disinformation campaigns. He asserted that India is attempting to sabotage the Indus Waters Treaty through vile propaganda and unilateral actions. However, he reaffirmed that such baseless allegations and unilateral steps cannot undermine or nullify an international agreement.

Commenting on the broader implications, Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq warned that the fascist policies of the Modi Regime pose a serious threat to regional peace and security. He criticized the Indian government’s reckless behavior, saying it runs counter to the principles of modern international diplomacy and justice. Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq further stated that India has consistently failed to conceal the truth, and its attempts to defame Pakistan will ultimately be exposed.

He described the Pahalgam incident as a calculated move by the Indian government, characterizing it as a false flag operation designed to serve a political agenda. He noted that blaming Pakistan for such events has long been a part of India’s established pattern. He concluded that in the presence of more than 800,000 troops, the failure to prevent such incidents is a glaring embarrassment for India itself and only reveals the true face of its propaganda before the world.
