ISLAMABAD – Speaker of the National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, has expressed strong support for the recent decisions taken by the National Security Committee, emphasizing that Pakistan’s core national interests have been safeguarded at the highest forum.

While addressing the media through an official statement, the Speaker firmly rejected any notion of unilateral withdrawal from the Indus Waters Treaty, stating that:

“The Indus Waters Treaty cannot be terminated unilaterally under any circumstances.”

He highlighted that the World Bank stands as the guarantor of the treaty, and any breach of it would be a direct violation of international obligations.

“India will have to pay the price for imposing water aggression on Pakistan,” he warned.
“Pakistan will never permit the diversion or obstruction of its rightful share of water under the treaty.”

He reassured the public and international observers that Pakistan’s Armed Forces are fully capable of responding to any kind of aggression or misadventure, and the nation stands united behind its defenders.

Referring to the Pahalgam incident, the Speaker labeled India’s unilateral actions as unacceptable, saying:

“Blaming Pakistan without investigation is not only disappointing but reflects sheer prejudice.”

He reaffirmed that Pakistan will never compromise on its sovereignty and territorial integrity, and declared:

“The protection and defense of our borders is a national duty, and we are always prepared.”

The Speaker concluded by affirming that the Parliament and the people of Pakistan fully support the decisions of the National Security Committee, echoing a message of national unity and resolve.
