Islamabad – Honourable Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has extended warm felicitations to Christian Members of Parliament and the Christian community on the occasion of Easter.

He emphasized that non-Muslim communities have always played a key role in Pakistan's development, calling their contributions an “irrefutable reality.” The Speaker highlighted that the Constitution of Pakistan ensures equal rights for all citizens, including minorities, and stressed the need for peaceful coexistence.

In his special message, the Speaker encouraged both lawmakers and citizens to take proactive steps towards promoting inter-faith harmony and peace, terming them prerequisites for national prosperity and societal progress. He urged parliamentarians to legislate inclusively and above party lines for the betterment of all communities.

Speaker Ayaz Sadiq lauded the Christian community for their contributions since the creation of Pakistan and recalled the message of equality and religious freedom by Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

Acting Speaker National Assembly, Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah, also conveyed hearty Easter greetings. He reaffirmed that minorities are free to practice their religion under the Constitution and emphasized that every citizen must play a part in fostering unity and harmony in the country. He appreciated the loyalty and services of minorities, especially the Christian community, towards Pakistan’s development.
