*24th April, 2025, Islamabad* -
The Screening of Bosnian Movie: Quo Vadis, Aida? Was held in the presence of Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina Delegates, the Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA), the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme (PMYP) team, and Youth present there from different Universities at the Pakistan National Council of Arts (PNCA). At the screening ceremony of the Bosnian film Quo Vadis, Aida?, chairman Prime Minister's youth programme emphasized that cultural exchange between the two nations should not be seen merely as a tradition, but as a bridge fostering lasting partnerships for peace and understanding.
He noted that under the banner of the Prime Minister's Youth Programme (PMYP), Pakistan is not only celebrating Bosnia’s National Day, but also ensuring the active participation of youth in promoting culture and cinema. Following the directive of the Prime Minister, the Youth Programme took the initiative to showcase this powerful cinematic experience to the youth of Pakistan. "This is not only about sharing a profound film experience, but about strengthening our commitment to cultural understanding, peace-building, and the relationships that unite us," he said.
Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan highlighted that Bosnia and Herzegovina is a country rich in history and beauty. He termed the event an opportunity to deepen the growing friendship between Pakistan and Bosnia and Herzegovina. "Our bilateral ties are rooted in mutual respect, shared values, and heartfelt solidarity. Bosnia has always stood by Pakistan in times of need, and our cooperation has strengthened diplomatic, humanitarian, and cultural exchanges."
He stressed the importance of people-to-people contacts, especially those led by the youth. “We do not see cultural exchange merely as a tradition; we consider it a bridge for long-term partnerships that promote peace and mutual understanding.” The Chairman also pointed out that both nations are blessed with dynamic youth populations. "In Pakistan, over 70% of the population is under the age of 30. Similarly, in Bosnia, more than one-third of the population consists of young people full of energy and creativity," he stated.
He further added that youth in both Sarajevo and Islamabad are not only shaping the futures of their respective countries but are also becoming global citizens, innovators, and peacebuilders. “What unites them is their resilience, thirst for knowledge, and unwavering hope to build a better world.”
Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan also actively engaged with the students at the event, discussing the core pillars of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme (PMYP) —the 4Es: Education, Employment, Engagement, and Environment. He highlighted key initiatives under the programme and shared updates on the development of the Youth Engagement Policy and the National Adolescents and Youth Policy (NAYP), including ongoing consultative activities. Encouraging open dialogue, he invited students from various universities to take the stage and share their concerns, with many participating enthusiastically. He urged them to download the Prime Minister’s Digital Youth Hub App, calling it a comprehensive platform that provides access to vital information, opportunities, and solutions tailored to youth needs.
